 Boston was swept by Tampa Bay in a two-game set at Fenway from April 27-28, and the Red Sox have a three-game home losing streak to the Rays dating to last season. The Rays have never won more than four straight games at Fenway, most recently spanning 2015-16.

 The Red Sox swept a three-game set with the Royals, and in yesterday's 7-5 win there were seven different Red Sox to score a run. This was the 12th game this season in which at least seven players scored a run -- only the Rangers (14) have more.

 Tampa Bay's 20-9 road record and 7-1-2 road series record both rank first in MLB. The team has held an opponent to one or no runs in 11 road games this season, most in MLB, including each of their last two.

 Willy Adames is on a team-high eight-game hitting streak entering this series. He has five home runs with a .853 OPS since the beginning of May after hitting one home run with a .565 OPS in March-April.

 In the three-game sweep over Kansas City, Rafael Devers scored six runs and had seven RBI. He's the first player to meet those marks in a three-game series in MLB this season -- seven players did it last season, including teammate Mookie Betts once.

 Xander Bogaerts has scored at least a run in each of his five games played in June, and his seven runs this month are one shy of most in MLB (Brian Anderson, Garrett Cooper -- eight apiece). His 50 runs scored in 2019 rank third in MLB behind Trevor Story (57) and Cody Bellinger (51).

BOSTON (AP)  David Price had a milestone night and Marco Hernandez completed his long journey back to the big leagues.
Hernandez hit a key two-run double in his first major league start in over two years, Price pitched six solid innings in his 300th career start and the Boston Red Sox beat the Tampa Bay Rays 5-1 to salvage a split of their day-night doubleheader Saturday.
