The Reds and Mariners last met in 2016, with Seattle taking all three games in Cincinnati. The Mariners have gone 13-2 (.867) versus the Reds all-time, the highest win percentage in any interleague matchup that has been played at least 15 times.

The Reds won on Sunday, 4-3, to avoid a home sweep at the hands of the Diamondbacks. Cincinnati hits the road where it has lost four of its last five and has gone 10-21 since June 22, third worst in the National League.

The Mariners have lost six consecutive games and have gone 2-11 since August 26, tied with the Rockies for the worst record in MLB in that span. Seattle has allowed 21 home runs since that date -- only Oakland (24) and the Chicago White Sox (22) have allowed more.

Dee Gordon has gone 12-for-28 (.429) over his last seven games, stealing three bases in that stretch. Gordon has 22 steals on the season, giving him his sixth consecutive season with at least 20, trailing only Starling Marte (seven straight) for the longest active streak.

SEATTLE (AP)  There's not much of a scouting report on Seattle Mariners rookie Kyle Lewis. After two major league games, an impressive one is taking shape.
Lewis broke up a no-hitter bid with a home run for the second consecutive game, helping the Mariners to a 5-3 win over Sonny Gray and the Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday night.
