 The Phillies have won 10 of 16 meetings with the Mets, the first time they've taken the season series between the teams since 2011. Philadelphia went 33-62 against New York from 2014-18, their lowest winning percentage vs. any National League team over that period.

 The Mets have lost a season-high six straight home games, a stretch in which they were held to two runs or fewer four times and hit a collective .146 with runners in scoring position. Since the All-Star break, the Mets are averaging 5.9 runs per game while batting .285 on the road and 4.5 runs per game with a .235 average at Citi Field.

 Pete Alonso hit his NL-leading 45th home run Wednesday in Washington to extend his on-base streak to 30 games, the longest in-season run by an NL rookie since current teammate Todd Frazier also did so in 30 straight with the Reds in 2012.

 Bryce Harper reached 30 homers and 100 RBI during Philadelphia's just-completed series with the Reds to become the first Phillies outfielder since Pat Burrell in 2005 with a 30-homer, 100-RBI season. He's the first Phillie to hit those marks in his first season with the team since Jim Thome (47 HR, 131 RBI) in 2003.

 Cesar Hernandez is 15-for-30 with five multi-hit games during an eight-game hitting streak at Citi Field and is 9-for-17 lifetime off Steven Matz, the Mets' scheduled starter for Friday.

 Matz is 3-1 with a 1.29 ERA in four starts at Citi Field since rejoining the Mets' rotation after the All-Star break. Matz has a 6.08 ERA on the road and a 2.01 ERA at home this season, the second-largest difference among pitchers with at least 10 starts home and away in 2019 (Adam Wainwright, 6.54/2.43).
