 The Rangers won three of four games against the Angels when these two teams met in Texas earlier this month. Texas is 9-8 against the Angels this season, but just 2-5 on the road at Los Angeles.

 The Angels were swept by Houston in their most recent series, and have lost five consecutive games overall. At 63-70, Los Angeles is now a season-high seven games under .500.

 Mike Trout has hit 10 home runs against the Rangers this season -- only Gleyber Torres (13 HR vs. the Orioles) has more home runs against a single opponent in 2019.

 Rougned Odor is currently batting .195 with 21 home runs this season. Only five qualified players all-time have hit 20+ home runs and posted a sub-.200 batting average in the same season: Chris Davis (2014), Dan Uggla (2013), Carlos Pena (2010), Mark Reynolds (2010) and Rob Deer (1991).

Andrew Heaney will start for the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday against the Texas Rangers, hoping for a repeat performance.
In Heaney's most recent start, last Tuesday against the Rangers, he had his best start of the season and possibly the best start of his injury-plagued career. Heaney threw eight innings, allowed one run on four hits, and struck out 14 while not walking a batter. He became only the third Angels pitcher in club history to strike out as many as 14 without issuing a walk (Frank Tanana, 1975, and Dan Haren, 2012).

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP)  The Los Angeles Angels haven't been eight games below .500 since 2016. After five consecutive road losses heading into this homestand, they certainly appeared to be headed to that dismal depth while Texas' Mike Minor dazzled them for six scoreless innings.
Kole Calhoun and Brian Goodwin made sure the Angels didn't bottom out, and Mike Trout added the coup de grace by adding to his major league homers lead.
