 The Phillies have lost five of their last six games to the Marlins, and are 6-7 against the Marlins in 2019. Entering 2019, the Phillies had won the season series over the Marlins in nine consecutive seasons, the longest active streak among divisional opponents in MLB.

 The Marlins have been swept in back-to-back series by the Rockies and Braves, and the team has gone 4-16 in August -- those 16 losses are their most in a month since April (19). The Marlins' 4.35 ERA entering August ranked 13th in MLB -- their 6.31 ERA in August ranks 29th in MLB (Orioles, 7.71).

 The Phillies swept a two-game set in Boston and they've now held opponents to five runs or fewer in eight straight games, their longest streak of 2019. Over this span (since August 13), the Phillies bullpen has posted a 1.26 ERA and .182 opponent batting average, both leading the National League.

 Rhys Hoskins has hit in the leadoff spot in each of his last six starts, the first games of his career ever doing so. However, he went 3-for-19 (.158) with one extra-base hit and one RBI in those games.

 Brian Anderson's nine doubles this month rank second in the NL behind Corey Seager (12). Anderson's eight-game hitting streak against the Phillies is the longest active streak in MLB, and during the streak he has seven extra-base hits, seven runs scored, seven RBI and a 1.238 OPS.

 Bryce Harper hit his ninth home run of August in his last game, now surpassing his combined total over June and July (eight). Harper is hitting .175 with nobody on base this season and .348 with runners on.
