 Washington heads to Pittsburgh as these teams meet in their second and final series of the year, with the Pirates taking two of three from April 12-14. In that series, Colin Moran was 4-for-9 with five RBI, tied for the most RBI in a single series in his career.

 Saturday and Sunday against the Brewers, the Nationals scored a total of 30 runs, tied for the most in back-to-back games in franchise history (July 31-Aug. 1, 2018, vs. NYM). Their 12 home runs were the most by any MLB team in back-to-back games since they had 12 in 2012 (Sept. 4-5, vs. ChC).

 In Saturday's 2-0 loss to the Cubs, the Pirates had six plate appearances with the bases loaded, the most in a shutout loss since 1980 (also six, NYM at Hou).

 Over the weekend, Juan Soto scored the 150th run of his career and collected his 150th career RBI. At 20 years and 296 days old he became the second-youngest player all-time to reach those milestones (Mel Ott, 20 years and 109 days).

 Despite a 1-for-13 weekend, Bryan Reynolds is hitting .326 this season, on pace to be the highest batting average by a rookie since Mike Trout hit .326 in 2012 (min. 3.1 PA per team game).

 Patrick Corbin, scheduled to start Wednesday for the Nats, has a home ERA of 1.76 and road ERA of 5.13, giving him the third-largest difference among ERA qualifiers.

PITTSBURGH (AP)  After having little success in his first three times up, Starling Marte came up in the eighth inning with two men on base and the score tied. This time, Stephen Strasburg wasn't on the mound and Marte took advantage.
Marte hit a tiebreaking, three-run homer off reliever Daniel Hudson and the Pittsburgh Pirates beat the Washington Nationals 4-1 Tuesday night.
