Toronto is 26-16 against Texas since the 2013 season, its highest winning percentage against any American League opponent over that span. The Rangers haven't won a season series from the Blue Jays since 2012 but did take two of three from the Blue Jays in Arlington from May 3-5.

The Blue Jays lead the majors with a .331 average out of the leadoff spot since the All-Star break. Toronto is averaging 5.37 runs per game since June 16 after averaging 3.83 per game prior to that date, which had ranked 28th in the majors.

Texas is 2-4 thus far on a nine-game road trip and has scored only 10 runs while batting .155 for the trek. The Rangers have struck out once every 3.59 plate appearances on the road this season, the worst mark in the majors since 1913.

Shin-Soo Choo ranks 10th among active players (min. 3000 PA) in career on-base percentage (.378), but his .282 OBP at Rogers Centre is his lowest at any current major league park. Choo is 5-for-48 (.104) with a .307 OPS in 12 regular-season games in Toronto since 2014.

Cavan Biggio is 4-for-50 in 14 games at Rogers Centre since July 3 and his .158 season average at home is the fourth-lowest in the majors this season among players with at least 120 plate appearances (Travis Shaw, .147; Jay Bruce, .148; Ryan O'Hearn, .150).

Ariel Jurado has a 6.64 ERA in innings 1-3 and a 4.04 ERA from the fourth inning on in his 14 starts. Over his last three starts, Jurado has allowed just two runs in nine innings while holding opposing hitters to a .152 average after the third inning.

It was a study in contrasts for the Toronto Blue Jays over the past two days, while the visiting Texas Rangers stayed in a familiar rut when the teams played the opener of a three-game series Monday night.
After losing 1-0 to the New York Yankees on Sunday, the Blue Jays swamped the Rangers 19-4 on Monday. It matched the third-highest run total in a game in club history and was the most since they beat the Tampa Bay Rays 20-11 on June 25, 2011. The loss gave the Rangers a 2-5 record on their nine-game road trip.
