The rubber match of the Arizona Diamondbacks' three-game series against the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday in Phoenix will include two starting pitchers acquired at last week's trade deadline.
Philadelphia lefty Jason Vargas (6-5, 3.93 ERA) has already made his debut with his new team, but this will be the first appearance for Zac Gallen (1-3, 2.72) with the Diamondbacks.

PHOENIX (AP)  Zac Gallen would have liked to pitch longer in Wednesday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies. But the Arizona Diamondbacks' right-hander was on a pitch count, so he made the most of the time he had.
Gallen threw five scoreless innings and helped himself with a run-scoring sacrifice bunt in his Arizona debut, leading the Diamondbacks to a 6-1 win over the Philadelphia Phillies.
