 The Indians are 15-4 against the Angels since 2016, nearly doubling them up in runs in that span, 114-68. That is tied for the second-best record by any team against a league opponent since 2016 behind only the Astros against the Orioles (19-4).

 Mike Trout hit his 275th home run on Wednesday and collected his 777th walk. The only other players in MLB history to reach 275 home runs and 775 walks before turning 28 are Mel Ott, Mickey Mantle and Jimmie Foxx.

 The Indians lost two of three against the Astros in their last series but are still an AL-best 19-7 since June 30. They now sit just 3.0 games behind the Twins for the AL Central lead after trailing by 11.5 games on June 3.

CLEVELAND (AP)  Indians manager Terry Francona knows Yasiel Puig's presence brings an extra buzz to the ballpark.
''If I was a fan that would be one of the guys, if I was hungry I'd wait until he hit because you want to see what he's going to do,'' Francona said.
