 The Diamondbacks took two of three from Baltimore with Wednesday's 5-2 victory to go back over .500. They haven't been more than two games over .500 or two games under since they were 38-35 before play on June 18.

 A 2-0 win over the White Sox on Wednesday gave the Marlins consecutive wins for the first time this month. Miami allowed two total runs in those victories after giving up 28 during a four-game losing streak.

 Ketel Marte homered Wednesday to become the first Diamondbacks player to hit 10 or more home runs from both sides of the plate in a single season. He's 17-for-41 (.415) since July 13 and is tied for third (minimum 40 plate appearances) in hits in the NL during that span.

 Marlins starting pitchers have gone at least seven innings in back-to-back starts for the first time since May 27-28. Miami hasn't had three straight starters complete at least seven innings since June 21-23, 2016.

 Zach Greinke, Friday's scheduled starter, is 7-0 with a 3.28 ERA in 11 career starts against the Marlins. He's won all six starts in Miami with a 1.48 ERA, five walks and 38 strikeouts. The Marlins are the only MLB team he has never lost to.

 Sandy Alcantara, scheduled to start Friday for Miami, is 0-3 with a 7.15 ERA in his last four starts after going 2-1 with a 1.71 ERA in his previous five. His 112 1/3 innings are the most by a Marlins rookie through 19 starts in a season since 2010, just ahead of Jose Fernandez, who had 111 2/3 in 2013.

Sunday's series finale between the Arizona Diamondbacks and the host Miami Marlins could feature some bruised feelings.
The teams have split the first two games of the weekend set. The Marlins rallied for a 3-2 walk-off win on Friday, and Arizona rolled 9-2 on Saturday.

Marlins, Diamondbacks ready for rubber match

MIAMI (AP)  Harold Ramirez committed an ugly error and disagreed with a ruling that cost him an RBI double. Even so, the rookie outfielder had one of his best games yet.
Ramirez homered, hit a line drive that scored the tiebreaking run and made consecutive catches against the fence to help the Miami Marlins beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-1 Sunday.
