The Angels have won 11 of 15 meetings with the Orioles dating back to 2017, including two of three in Baltimore earlier this season. Baltimore has gone 29-59 (.341) against the AL West since 2016; among AL teams, only the Tigers (20-59, .253) have a worse record against the division.

The Orioles will play the next six games of their road trip in California, having lost their last 10 games in the state dating back to August 2017. That's their second-longest losing streak ever in California; they lost 12 games from July 2003 to June 2004.

The Angels have won nine of 12 games since the All-Star break, scoring three runs or more in each of the wins but two runs or fewer in all three losses. For the season, the Angels are 54-28 (.659) when scoring at least three runs, but 0-21 when scoring two or fewer -- the most losses without a win in those games.

Angels face pitching issues as Orioles hit town

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP)  Even after a postgame beer shower from his ecstatic Baltimore Orioles teammates, Stevie Wilkerson was shocked to learn he had just become the first position player in major league history to earn a save.
The Orioles' center fielder certainly couldn't believe he did it by throwing a perfect 16th inning way past midnight with a bunch of tepid lobs that never topped 56 mph.
