 The Rangers enter this series on a season-long seven game losing streak. The Mariners are 3-15 over their last 18 games, and are now a season-worst 22 games under .500.

 On Sunday, the Rangers became the first team in MLB history to strike out more than 1000 times within the first 100 games of a season (1007 K's in 99 games). Seattle ranks second in the majors in team strikeouts this season with 984.

 Daniel Vogelbach hit two home runs in Seattle's win on Saturday, before going 0-for-4 in a loss on Sunday. This season, Vogelbach has a 1.310 OPS with 18 home runs in team wins, compared to a .580 OPS with five home runs in team losses.

 Joey Gallo went 0-for-12 with nine strikeouts in Texas' last series, a three-game sweep by Houston. In 13 games in July, Gallo is slashing .125/.236/.292 with three RBI and 29 strikeouts in 55 plate appearances.

 In 172 plate appearances leading off an inning this season, Shin-soo Choo has a .448 on-base percentage. Choo has reached base (via H, BB, or HBP) 77 times leading off an inning this season, by far the most in MLB -- Ronald Acuna Jr. ranks second with 61.

Kyle Seager came to spring training in the best shape of his career and with a retooled swing, hoping to bounce back from his worst season at the plate.
Instead, he has spent time on the injured list for the first time in his career and is batting .189 for the last-place Seattle Mariners.

SEATTLE (AP)  As the losses mounted for the Texas Rangers during their eight-game skid, their daily hitting meeting turned into something of a therapy session.
Rougned Odor spoke positive words of encouragement to his team Tuesday afternoon, then backed it up with two home runs in a 7-2 win over the Seattle Mariners. Nomar Mazara reached the third deck with an impressive drive, Shin-Soo Choo hit a leadoff homer in the first and rookie pitcher Pedro Payano was excellent in relief to help the Rangers get back on track.
