 The Diamondbacks visit the Giants for the first time since sweeping three games from May 24-26, while scoring 34 runs, tied for their most in a three-game series (Sept 12-14, 2016 vs. Colorado). For the Giants, it was their most runs ever allowed in a three-game set at Oracle Park, and most allowed anywhere since permitting 36 at Colorado from Sept. 18-20, 2006.

 Ketel Marte's franchise record of eight consecutive games with at least two hits ended Wednesday when he singled in his only plate appearance as a pinch hitter. He is hitting .647 (22-for-34) with three homers and three doubles in his last nine games, and is 9-for-17 (.529) with three homers, two triples, seven RBI and six runs in his last four vs. the Giants.

 Eduardo Escobar, who hit his 18th homer of the year Wednesday, has driven in a runner from third base 16 times out of 18 opportunities with fewer than two outs this season. His 88.9 percent of the time driving in that runner from third is highest in MLB among those with at least 10 such opportunities.

 The Giants have clubbed 28 extra-base hits in seven games since June 20, tied for third-most in MLB in that span. In their previous 13 games from June 5-19, they had the fewest extra-base hits in MLB with 25.

 Zach Greinke will make his first start of 2019 vs. the Giants on Saturday, and first in San Francisco since tossing eight shutout innings Sept. 16, 2017. In seven starts at Oracle Park, he is 5-0 with a 1.37 ERA -- the lowest by any pitcher that has made at least seven starts there since the ballpark opened in 2000.

 Madison Bumgarner has had similar success lately vs. Arizona at Oracle but doesn't have much to show for it, going 1-6 in his last eight starts against them despite a 1.53 ERA. He is the only pitcher in the live-ball era with one win and a sub-1.55 ERA against a single opponent over an eight-start stretch at home.

Ketel Marte hopes to continue his march to the All-Star Game at a site where he's had more than his fair share of success when the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks open a four-game series against the San Francisco Giants on Thursday night.
The Diamondbacks swept a three-game set at San Francisco earlier this season as part of an unusual season series in which the visiting team has gone 7-2, including the Giants taking two of three at Arizona last week.

D-backs' Marte aims to rough up Giants again

SAN FRANCISCO (AP)  Eduardo Escobar's late RBI single meant a little more Thursday after an emotional cross-country trip.
Earlier in the day, the Arizona third baseman had been in Miami for meetings with immigration officials as two of his boys received their green cards. Diamondbacks owners provided their private plane to get him there after Wednesday's game in Phoenix, then flew Escobar to the Bay Area in time to play in a series-opening 5-1 win over the Giants.
