 The Mariners have won nine consecutive games against the Royals, including a four-game sweep in Kansas City in April. A win tonight would tie the Mariners for their longest win streak all-time against any single opponent (10 straight wins vs. Orioles from 2000-01 and vs. Royals in 1985).

Pitchers eye repeat success as Royals face Mariners

SEATTLE (AP)  With Whit Merrifield and the Kansas City Royals piling up the runs, Homer Bailey went on a mission Tuesday night.
Merrifield had two homers and a career-high six RBIs, Bailey worked into the eighth inning with 121 pitches and the Royals beat the Seattle Mariners 9-0.
