 Boston has won six in a row over Texas, and since 2016 the Red Sox have gone 14-5 against the Rangers, hitting .297 and scoring 6.5 runs per game. This is the Red Sox' best record against any AL opponent since 2016 and the Rangers worst record against an AL opponent.

 The Red Sox lost three of four to the Rays, slashing .189/.246/.268 as a team and scoring just nine runs over the four games combined. The franchise has not scored fewer runs in a four-game series since July 2015 (four versus Angels).

 The Rangers' .293 batting average in June leads MLB, and their 52 runs are one shy of the MLB-leading Angels. The team has had 10+ hits in six of nine games in June, but they are only 3-3 in those games.

Red Sox look for key hits vs. Rangers

BOSTON (AP)  Hunter Pence sprinted through his 14th homer of the season, although there was probably no need to hurry.
Pence hit a stand-up, inside-the-park home run and the Texas Rangers beat Boston 9-5 Tuesday night, capitalizing when the Red Sox unraveled after their manager and right fielder were ejected.
