 The Yankees fell to the Red Sox, 8-5, at home on Sunday, as they failed to complete a three-game sweep. They're now 15-4 since May 12 -- only the Dodgers 16-3) have a better record in that timeframe.

 The Blue Jays lost to the Rockies, 5-1, in Colorado on Sunday, and have now lost six straight and 10 of their last 11. Since a three-game sweep of Oakland from April 26-28, they've lost or tied 10 straight series, their longest streak in 40 years.

 Toronto is the only AL East team with a winning record (41-35) against the Yankees since the 2015 season. The Jays have a team ERA of 3.90 against New York in that span, third lowest of any AL team.

 Gleyber Torres has an OPS of 1.313 against AL East opponents this season, the highest by any player against his own division (minimum 50 PA). The only other Yankees with a 1.300+ OPS through 22 divisional games in a season were Jorge Posada in 2000 (1.329) and Aaron Judge in 2017 (1.328).

 Of the 103 pitchers to toss at least 100 innings against the Blue Jays, Masahiro Tanaka's 26.7 strikeout percentage ranks fourth behind Hall of Famers Nolan Ryan (28.5), Pedro Martinez (27.8) and Randy Johnson (27.8).

 Clayton Richard faced the Yankees as a White Sox rookie in 2008, and he has not faced them since (10 years, 260 days). When he starts Tuesday, it will be the longest time between any pitcher's first two starts against the Yankees in the live-ball era.

The New York Yankees will begin a six-game road trip when they play the opener of a three-game series Tuesday night against the Toronto Blue Jays.
At the same time, a group of Yankees will have hit the road as well, but the destination was Tampa, Fla., where Aaron Judge (strained oblique), Dellin Betances (shoulder impingement) and Greg Bird (torn plantar fascia) will continue their rehabilitation programs, joining Giancarlo Stanton (calf strain).

Battered Yankees aim to feast on struggling Blue Jays

TORONTO (AP)  A rare off night by the offense left the New York Yankees back-to-back losers for the first time in more than a month.
Freddy Galvis hit a two-run home run, Randal Grichuk added a solo shot and the Toronto Blue Jays held off New York 4-3 Tuesday night to end a season-worst six-game slide.
