 Colorado has won 11 of the last 15 meetings between these teams, averaging 7.00 runs per game over that stretch. The D-backs won two of three games in Colorado earlier this month, however.

 Arizona had a combined 34 runs and 44 hits in a three-game sweep of the Giants in San Francisco over the weekend. That's tied for their most runs in any three-game series all-time; they also scored 34 in a three-game home set with Colorado from September 12-14, 2016.

 Colorado is scoring an MLB-high 6.13 runs per game at home this season, but allowing an MLB-high 6.96. The combined 13.09 runs per game scored at Coors Field are nearly two more than the next-closest park (Camden Yards, 11.24).

 Nolan Arenado had four home runs and nine RBI in the Rockies' three-game series with Baltimore over the weekend. He's the second Rockie to reach both of those marks in a three-game series all-time, joining Trevor Story (August 2018 vs. Brewers). Arenado has six straight multi-hit games (14/26, .538).

 Eduardo Escobar (39), Ketel Marte (37), Adam Jones (33) and David Peralta (30) all have 30 or more RBI. The D-backs are one of four MLB teams with four such players, along with the Cubs, Astros and Royals.

 Zack Greinke has walked just 1.1 batters per nine innings this season, and has a 7.4 strikeout-walk ratio. Both figures are second best among MLB ERA qualifiers, to the Dodgers' Hyun-Jin Ryu (0.6 and 15.5).

Jeff Hoffman struggled in his second start of the season Friday, but he came through for the Colorado Rockies when he delivered the winning run as a pinch runner two days later.
The right-hander hopes to deliver a win when he is on the mound Wednesday against the Arizona Diamondbacks. He will face left-hander Robbie Ray in the third of a four-game series that wraps up Thursday afternoon.

Hoffman, Rockies hope to run past D-backs

DENVER (AP)  Jeff Hoffman worked his way out of an early jam, with an assist from manager Bud Black in the form of a stern mound visit.
Hoffman weathered a tough second to pitch five solid innings and laid down a bunt single that drove in a key run as the Colorado Rockies beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-4 on Wednesday night.
