The Tigers have won six of the last seven games against the Mets dating back to the 2011 season. Since 2017, the Tigers are 15-32 in interleague games, second worst in MLB ahead of the White Sox (12-28), while the Mets are 16-26, second worst in the National League ahead of the Reds (16-27).

Detroit has lost nine straight games (not including a suspended game on May 19) while scoring four runs or fewer in each game. The last time the Tigers lost 10 straight games in a single season with four runs or fewer in each game was in April 1981.

NEW YORK (AP)  Winless for almost two weeks, the Detroit Tigers finally busted loose for nine runs and needed every last one of them.
JaCoby Jones homered and had a career-high four RBIs , including a go-ahead double in the seventh inning, and Miguel Cabrera also connected as the Tigers halted their nine-game losing streak Friday night with a wild 9-8 victory over the New York Mets.
