 The Diamondbacks won 10 of 13 meetings with the Giants from the start of the 2017 season through May 2018; since last June, however, SF has won five of seven in the series, averaging 5.00 runs per game. Entering the 2017 season, the Giants had won 33 of the previous 43 meetings with Arizona.

 The Giants are scoring 6.00 runs per game since May 3 (66 runs in 11 games), ranking second in the NL in that span (Colorado -- 7.00). They are averaging 1.55 homers per game in that stretch after entering play on May 3 hitting 0.55 homers per contest, third lowest in MLB to that point.

 After posting a 3.48 ERA in April with a .228 opponent batting average, Arizona pitching has a 4.15 ERA this month and is surrendering a .264 batting average. In their just-completed three-game series with the Pirates, the Diamondbacks allowed five hits in 31 at-bats with RISP (.161).

 Buster Posey, who is expected back in the Giants' lineup this weekend, has played 131 games against Arizona in his career and has 151 hits, fifth most all-time among Arizona opponents. Only Todd Helton (246), Adrian Gonzalez (189), Matt Kemp (189) and Andre Ethier (178) have more.

 David Peralta leads the NL with 16 doubles this season; he is tied for second in MLB. In franchise history, no Diamondback has led the National League in doubles in a season. Peralta is hitting .407 against NL West opponents in 2019 (24-for-59) with 14 RBI in 14 games.

 Merrill Kelly has a 3.20 ERA at home in 2019 (nine earned runs in 25.1 innings) with a .713 opponent OPS. On the road, Kelly's ERA is 6.53, and his opponent OPS is .902. He has issued only three walks in 25.1 innings at home, compared to 14 in 20.2 innings on the road.
