 The only series the Phillies have lost at home this season came against Washington, dropping two of three games April 8-10 while getting outscored 28-11. They're 11-4 in all other home games in 2019.

 The Nationals are coming off a seven-game homestand in which they averaged just 3.0 runs per game and batted .206. They are now beginning a stretch of 10 straight games on the road, where they are averaging 6.25 runs -- fourth best in the majors.

 The Phillies have a .698 OPS in their last 10 games after having an .800 OPS in their first 20 games. However, they did have 15 hits in their last game, Wednesday's 7-3 win over the Tigers, and their 13 games this season with 10+ hits are tied for fourth most in the majors.

 This is already Bryce Harper's third series against his former team, having gone 6-for-16 (.375) with six walks, two homers and six RBI in five games versus Washington. However, he enters this series in a 3-for-32 slump (.094), having gone hitless in his last three games.

 Howie Kendrick has hit .400 (10-for-25) with three homers in 10 games against the Phillies since they traded him to Washington in July 2017. Kendrick's 1.033 OPS this season is the best of his 14-year career through 23 games.

 J.T. Realmuto had a .308 slugging percentage in his first 15 games in a Phillies uniform but has since posted a .596 mark in 14 games. Realmuto had his ninth multi-hit game of the season Wednesday as the Phillies improved to 7-2 when he has two or more hits.

Phillies slugger Bryce Harper and Nationals pitcher Jeremy Hellickson are slated to face their former teams when Philadelphia begins a three-game home series against Washington on Friday night.
Hellickson (2-0, 5.82 ERA) is scheduled to start for the Nationals, who lost three of four at home this week to the St. Louis Cardinals. He will be opposed by Jerad Eickhoff (1-1, 2.12), who allowed just two hits in seven scoreless innings against the Miami Marlins on April 26 in his most recent outing.

PHILADELPHIA (AP)  Rhys Hoskins is making pitchers think twice about pitching around Bryce Harper.
Hoskins hit a three-run homer, Jerad Eickhoff threw five crisp innings and the Philadelphia Phillies beat the Washington Nationals 4-2 on Friday night.
