Houston won the season series against Texas in 2018, winning 12 of the 19 games. The Astros have won each of the last eight games in Arlington, tied for the longest active road winning streak against any single opponent in MLB.

The Astros lost their opening series in Tampa Bay, losing three of four and scoring only nine runs in the entire series. Last season, the Astros averaged 5.23 runs per game on the road, third best in MLB.

Brad Peacock will start the first game of the series after coming out of the bullpen in 60 of 61 games last season. He went 10-2 (.833) as a starter in 2017, tied for the best record among pitchers with at least 10 decisions as a starter (Alex Wood, LAD -- 15-3).

One time through the rotation and the Texas Rangers have one starter who has managed to get through five innings - and that was 5 2/3.
Such abbreviated starts would seem a recipe for disaster, but the Rangers have benefited from a game bullpen that has played a major role in helping Texas go 3-2 against the Chicago Cubs and Houston Astros, two recent World Series champions and loaded clubs that are expected to make runs at getting back to the Fall Classic.

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP)  Gerrit Cole had been frustrated most of the game, like the rest of the Astros, and Houston's starter went immediately to the home plate umpire after recording his final out.
Cole put his glove over his mouth and was clearly agitated during an extended conversation with ump Ron Kulpa at the end of the sixth inning of the Astros' 4-0 loss Wednesday night against the Texas Rangers.
