 The Mariners have a 48-47 edge on the Angels since 2014 after winning last season's series, 11-8. Last year marked the first time since Houston joined the AL West in 2013 that Seattle won the season series with all of its division opponents.

 The Angels are batting .176 as a team, the lowest average through four games in franchise history. With nine runs, this is just the second time in 40 years that they've failed to reach double digits in their first four games; the other was 2016 (eight), the club's worst season under Mike Scioscia (74-88)..

 Seattle is off to its best start since opening 5-1 in 1995, the same year of the franchise's first ever playoff berth. The Mariners' 48 runs through six games are the second most in team history (52 in 1998).

 Albert Pujols has two singles through 11 at-bats and has now gone 12 straight games without an extra-base hit, matching the longest such drought of his career (also 2011).

 Domingo Santana leads the majors with 10 RBI, already halfway to his total from all of last season in 235 plate appearances; (31 PA this season). The RBI total ties David Segui (1998) and Phil Bradley (1985) for the most by any Mariner through six games of a season.

 Tim Beckham has hit safely in 13 straight games going back to last season, the second-longest active hitting streak in the majors behind Whit Merrifield's 23-game run. It's also the longest hitting streak of Beckham's career. He's halfway to his longest in a single season - 12 games in August 2017.
