The Angels lost three of four against the Rangers in Texas. All of their losses were by two runs and their one win was by four. Los Angeles is 24-35 (.407) in games decided by two or fewer runs, the sixth worst record in MLB.

The Diamondbacks won three of four against the Padres in San Diego over the weekend. Arizona will head home where they are 32-29(.525) compared to 37-27(.578) on the road this season. They have only finished the season with a better record on the road in three seasons (2005, 2015, 2016), and never when they had a winning record at home.

Felix Pena recorded his second career quality start in his most recent outing, throwing six innings without allowing an earned run and striking out seven batters. Pena has a 1.86 ERA in four interleague starts this season and has limited his opponents to a .154 batting average, tied for the lowest opponent batting average among pitchers with at least three starts in interleague play.

Patrick Corbin has faced 265 consecutive batters without allowing a home run, the longest such streak in MLB this season. Corbin only needs to extend the streak by two to pass Brandon Webb (2003, 266) for the longest such streak in a single season by a Diamondback pitcher.

Justin Upton has hit six home runs and recorded 16 RBI in interleague play this year, which both are tied for third in MLB. The Angels are 9-7 (.563) in interleague games this season compared to the D-Backs who are 6-6 (.500).

Paul Goldschmidt has reached base in each of his last 25 games, the longest active streak in MLB. He is also on a 12-game hitting streak in which he's slashing .431/.491/.765 with nine extra-base hits and 11 RBI.

PHOENIX -- The Los Angeles Angels got it exactly right when they selected Patrick Corbin in the second round of the 2009 draft.
Corbin has become a two-time All-Star, one on either side of a Tommy John surgery that cost him the 2014 season, and he has positioned himself to be one of the plums in the offseason free agent market.

PHOENIX (AP)  The Arizona Diamondbacks played small ball looking for the winning run in the ninth inning, and the Los Angeles Angels couldn't defend it.
Angels pitcher Cam Bedrosian threw wildly after fielding a sacrifice bunt attempt in the bottom of the ninth, allowing Jon Jay to score and the Diamondbacks to beat Los Angeles 5-4 on Tuesday night.
