This is the first meeting between the Twins and Padres since June 19, 2011. Minnesota has swept the last two series between these teams and is 9-3 overall against San Diego -- its best record versus any interleague opponent.

The Twins took two of three from Seattle over the weekend, claiming their third straight series win. Five of their last six wins have come by one run and the team's 8-4 record in such games is tied for fourth-best in the league.

The Padres have alternated three wins with three losses over their last six -- all of which came on the road. In their last three home games, all wins over the Marlins, the Padres combined for 24 runs on 36 hits.

Kevin Correia is looking for his first road victory of the season, having gone 0-2 with a 5.51 ERA in three road starts this season. Correia is 3-3 with a 4.42 ERA as a starter against the Padres in his career.

On the other side, Ian Kennedy is looking for his first home victory of the season -- posting a 0-4 record and 4.20 ERA in five home starts thus far. In one career start against the Twins, Kennedy allowed four runs over 7.2 innings in a win.

Brian Dozier and Eduardo Escobar currently own nine and eight-game hitting streaks, respectively. Miguel Cabrera (10) and Victory Martinez (nine) are the only other teammates currently with respective streaks of 8+ games.
