So Yeon Ryu wins World Ladies Championship

So Yeon Ryu won the World Ladies Championship on Sunday in Hainan, China, after firing a fourth-round 4-under 69 to come from behind and take the title from her fellow South Korean, Inbee Park.

Ryu finished the tournament at 13-under, one shot better than Park, after a fantastic weekend of golf that saw her shoot a 65 on Saturday and a 69 on Sunday.

It's Ryu's first Ladies European Tour title, and her fifth overall.

The Associated Press has more:

Park led by three strokes when Ryu double-bogeyed the par-4 seventh, sending her tee shot into black lava rocks and taking a penalty drop. The 24-year-old Ryu responded with three birdies in four holes from the ninth.

Both Ryu and Park failed birdie attempts on the 18th before Ryu tapped in a par putt from two feet to win.

Ryu was all nerves on the last hole.

''The winning putt, no matter how long it is, is always nervous,'' she said. ''My hands were literally shaking.''
