Korda misses Women's PGA cut after disastrous 81
World No. 1 Nelly Korda plummeted down the KPMG Women's PGA Championship leaderboard Friday to miss the cut.
Korda shot the highest round of her LPGA career with a 9-over 81 on Friday after firing a 3-under 69 Thursday. She recorded eight bogeys and a double bogey through 17 holes in her second round before making birdie on 18.
Korda trailed the leader by one stroke at the end of Round 1. She missed the cut by one shot.
It's the first time Korda has missed the cut in three consecutive tournaments after she also failed to make the weekend at the U.S. Women's Open and the Meijer LPGA Classic.
"It's just golf recently for me," Korda said following Friday's round, according to Golfweek's Beth Ann Nichols. "No words for how I'm playing right now. ... A lot went my way at the beginning part of the year and just giving it back."
Korda won six of seven events before her current cold streak.
