Nelly Korda wins T-Mobile Match Play for 4th straight LPGA victory

Nelly Korda just keeps on winning.

The world's top-ranked player beat Leona Maguire 4 and 3 at the T-Mobile Match Play final on Sunday to become the first woman since Lorena Ochoa in 2008 to win four consecutive starts on the LPGA Tour.

Korda claimed the LPGA Drive On Championship in January, as well as the Fir Hills Seri Pak Championship and Ford Championship in March.

"I can’t even wrap my head around it," she said, per The Associated Press. "Such a whirlwind of the last three weeks. I just feel like I was just in go-mode constantly."

The 25-year-old birdied three straight holes late in the front nine to build a solid lead over Maguire.

"You know you’re going to have to make birdies if you want to beat her," Maguire said. "Unfortunately, I didn't make enough today. Hats off to her. She is an incredible player and she is playing some great golf right now. All I could do is play my own game, and that wasn't good enough today."

The Irishwoman made it interesting with a pair of birdies of her own on the back nine, but a bogey on No. 15 and a par from Korda spelled the end of her day.

Next up on the LPGA schedule is the Chevron Championship in two weeks. Korda joins Annika Sorenstam as the only players in circuit history to enter a major coming off four consecutive wins, per Twenty First Group's Justin Ray.

Sorenstam pulled off the feat in 2005, and she ended up winning the Kraft Nabisco Championship by a whopping eight strokes.
