Seven-time LPGA Tour winner Nelly Korda announced Friday that she recently underwent surgery for a blood clot.

"I am pleased to report the procedure went well, and the doctors were happy with the outcome," Korda wrote in a statement posted to her Twitter. "I am now home recovering and preparing to start rehab. I am looking forward to getting back to 100% so I can begin practicing."

The 23-year-old announced her initial diagnosis March 13 and hadn't posted since. She was diagnosed after visiting the emergency room due to swelling in her arm following a morning workout.

Korda is ranked No. 2 in the world rankings and is the reigning Olympic gold medalist in women's golf. She hasn't played on the LPGA Tour since the LPGA Drive On Championship in early February. She missed the first major of the 2022 season, the Chevron Championship, which ended April 3.

In her statement, Korda also revealed she had COVID-19 in the second week of January.
