Celta Vigo's Jonny: Ronaldo should be punished for his dive
Cristiano Ronaldo lacks honor.
That's the message from Celta Vigo fullback Jonny, who conceded a penalty in his club's 3-0 loss to Real Madrid this past weekend despite appearing not to make contact with Ronaldo before he went down in the area.
Ronaldo, who would go on to score a hat trick in the match, was criticized heavily for the dive, with Jonny leading the way.
"I really do think that these type of actions must be punished," the Spain U-21 international said. "In the end it dirties football a bit. If we were all honourable in these type of plays, there would be less whistles for referees and they would have things much easier. We must help the referees.
"We have already seen many times that players dive and later recognised afterwards that there was no foul. That would be honourable on his [Ronaldo's] part."
Don't hold your breath for that, pal.
