Messi on Barcelona VP Javier Faus: 'Mr. Faus is someone who knows nothing about football'
Barcelona vice president Javier Faus recently stated talks regarding a contract renewal for Lionel Messi aren't on the agenda, claiming Messi shouldn't get another pay-rise after agreeing to a renewal in February.
Faus also hinted that Barcelona's board weren't pleased with Messi's attempt to negotiate an increased wage. During an interview with RAC1, Messi responded to Faus' claims.
"Mr. Faus is someone who knows nothing about football, and wants to run Barca like it was a business, which it is not. Barca is the best team in the world, and deserves to be represented by the best directors. And I remind him that neither I nor anyone from my camp have asked for a new contract -- and he knows that well," Messi said via ESPN.
The 26-year-old is currently nursing a hamstring injury, and is set to return in the new year.
