Barcelona have entered the Adama Traore sweepstakes.

The Blaugrana are attempting to sign the Wolverhampton Wanderers winger on loan with an option to buy worth around €35 million, David Ornstein of The Athletic reports.

Although the two teams are still negotiating, Traore is scheduled to undergo a medical Friday, according to Ornstein.

Tottenham Hotspur were previously considered favorites to land the 26-year-old, Ornstein adds, but the Premier League outfit won't return with another offer as Traore is unsure about being deployed as a wing-back. Wolves reportedly rejected a £15-million bid earlier in January.

Traore emerged as a Barcelona target after manager Xavi Hernandez called on the club to bring in attacking reinforcements.

But, before Barca can strike a deal with Traore, the club must resolve Ousmane Dembele's situation after telling the French winger to sign a new contract or leave in January, report Sam Marsden and Moises Llorens of ESPN.

Wolves have tried multiple times to extend Traore's contract, but the Spain international doesn't appear open to new terms as he enters the last 18 months of his deal. Traore has been left on the bench for Wolverhampton's last four Premier League games.

A move to Barcelona would mark Traore's return to the Catalan capital after the club sold him in 2015. He progressed through Barca's youth system before he was sold to Aston Villa.

Traore went on to spend two years at Middlesbrough before joining Wolves in 2018 and establishing himself as one of the Premier League's most exciting players.
