Madrid, Aug 23, 2020 (AFP) - Elche winger Pere Milla scored a 96th-minute winner against Girona in Sunday's Spanish promotion play-off to secure a 1-0 victory and a place in La Liga next season.
After a goalless first leg, Milla's late goal in the return game in Girona sealed a one-goal aggregate win and the third promotion berth alongside second division champions Huesca and Cadiz.
Elche were relegated from the top flight in 2015 over unpaid tax debts after finishing the season in 13th place.
