Real Madrid tops Atletico to reach yet another Champions League final
Save the date. The final is set.
Real Madrid weathered an early onslaught from Atletico at the Vicente Calderon on Wednesday, a 42nd-minute goal from Isco killing off any hopes the Rojiblancos had of pulling off a historic comeback; Atleti scored twice early, but the little Spaniard's scrappy tally took the stuffing out of Diego Simeone's men, and while Atleti claimed a 2-1 win on the day, Real booked its place in the Champions League final by virtue of a 4-2 victory on aggregate.

Los Blancos, looking to become the first team under the current format to ever win the tournament in consecutive seasons, will now meet Juventus in the showpiece contest on June 3 in Cardiff.
Real Madrid will be looking to extend its own record by winning a 12th European Cup, while Juventus, having lost its last 4 Champions League finals, is on the hunt for a third triumph in the competition.
