Neymar: 'Coutinho is a player that would totally fit in Barcelona'
Neymar didn't play alongside Philippe Coutinho at the 2013 Confederations Cup, the 2014 World Cup, or Rio 2016. In fact, since the product of Vasca da Gama crossed the Atlantic Ocean and joined Internazionale in 2010, the only major tournament in which the two players have taken the pitch together is the 2015 Copa America, where Brazil crashed out in the quarter-finals.
Nonetheless, Neymar knows enough about Coutinho to want his international teammate at the Camp Nou.
"A Premier League player that I would like to have in Barcelona is Coutinho," Neymar said in a pre-recorded interview with PokerStars, according to ESPN FC. "I believe Philippe Coutinho is a player that would totally fit in Barcelona."
Of course, Coutinho put pen to paper on a long-term contract with Liverpool in January that goes into effect in July. "I signed this new contract to stay here for a few more years because it's a great honour for me," he said at the time.
On Thursday night, Brazil and Uruguay will clash in 2018 World Cup qualifying at Estadio Centenario. Neymar and Coutinho were named to the Selecao's starting lineup.
