Besiktas confirms talks to sign Barcelona's Adriano
Negotiations are underway between Barcelona and Besiktas over the possible transfer of full-back Adriano Correia, the Turkish side confirmed Sunday.
Besiktas released a statement outlining its efforts to sign the Brazilian defender ahead of its Super Lig title defence.
"Besiktas have started negotiations with Barcelona and Adriano Correia over the transfer of the player," the Turkish side said in a brief statement, as translated by FourFourTwo.
Adriano, 31, will reportedly be offered a three-year contract once the two sides agree to a transfer fee, according to Turkish outlet NTVSpor.
The veteran defender, who arrived at the Camp Nou from Sevilla in 2010, often found himself on the bench as Luis Enrique used Jordi Alba as his primary option at left-back.
Adriano only managed to make eight league appearances - four starts - during Barcelona's title-winning 2015-16 campaign.
