Venezia sacked their head coach Giovanni Stroppa on Tuesday after failing to pick up a point in their opening six Serie A games of the season.
The club are rooted to the foot of the table, four points behind second-bottom Fiorentina, following a 3-1 loss at Atalanta on Monday.
"Venezia FC announces that Giovanni Stroppa has been relieved of his duties as head coach of the first team," Venezia said in a statement.
The 58-year-old Stroppa, a former AC Milan and Lazio midfielder, led Venezia to promotion to the top flight as Serie B champions last season.
It was the fourth promotion from the second tier in Stroppa's coaching career, having also achieved the feat with Cremonese, Monza and Crotone.
He is the fourth coach to be sacked in Serie A already this season, after Fiorentina fired Fabio Grosso, Domenico Tedesco left Bologna and Carlos Cuesta was dismissed by Parma.
