Canadian international Derek Cornelius has joined Marseille from Swedish club Malmo, the French Ligue 1 side announced on Sunday.
Marseille have not released any financial details of the transfer, but several sports media are quoting a sum of €4 million paid to Malmo.
The 26-year-old central defender, who has 26 international caps, played in Germany and Serbia before joining Vancouver Whitecaps in 2019.
After a spell on loan with Greek club Panetolikos, he moved to Malmo in 2023, helping them to win their 23rd league title.
He is Marseille's fifth summer recruit following fellow Canadian midfielder Ismael Kone, defender Lilian Brassier, English forward Mason Greenwood and Danish midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
