Nicolas Pepe is inching closer to a move to Arsenal.
Pepe is expected to arrive in London on Tuesday to undergo a medical in order to complete his transfer from Lille, reports David Ornstein of BBC Sport.
Arsenal will pay a club-record £72 million to sign the gifted winger, who will sign a five-year contract, Ornstein adds.
An official announcement will likely take place this week.
Arsenal will reportedly pay Lille in installments to avoid going over their summer budget.
The fee for the Ivory Coast international will eclipse the £56 million Arsenal paid Borussia Dortmund to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in 2018.
Pepe's potential arrival at the Emirates Stadium comes as a blow for Napoli. A report over the weekend suggested the Italian side was attempting to swoop in at the last minute to acquire the 24-year-old, who finished second in Ligue 1 scoring with 22 goals. But, based on previous reports, Pepe's desires lie elsewhere.
Paris Saint-Germain were also said to be interested but made their approach when the player was already considering other concrete options.
