Russell finished fastest in Free Practice 1 ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix, the Mercedes driver beating Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris to the top spot, Formula1.com reports.
Analysis:This would be the sole practice this weekend in Singapore ahead of Sprint Qualifying. Action would pick up very quickly as the sun set. Lando Norris would be the leader at the 15-minute mark, but it would be Russell's eventual lap of 1:32.274 on soft tyres that would set the pace for the session. He would edge Leclerc by two-tenths to lead this practice. The Mercedes star looks like a top contender to grab the pole position later Friday for the Singapore Sprint.
