Getafe's Abqar to serve 2-match ban for touching Sorloth's genitals

Getafe defender Abdel Abqar will serve a two-match ban after being sent off for pinching Atletico Madrid striker Alexander Sorloth in the crotch.

The Morocco international said he had no intention of touching Sorloth's crotch during Atletico's 1-0 win in La Liga last Saturday in La Liga.

"The images are compatible with the facts described in the referee's report," said the Spanish football federation's disciplinary committee in a statement Wednesday.

Referee Isidro Diaz de Mera, who sent off Abqar after a VAR review, wrote in his report that the red card was for "pinching the genital zone" of an opponent.

Abqar will be banned for Getafe's upcoming league matches against Espanyol and Athletic Bilbao.
