Barcelona and Real Madrid learned on Sunday when, exactly, they'll reignite their title battle after La Liga revealed its schedule for the opening days of the league's return to play next month.

The Catalan side, nursing a two-point lead atop the table prior to the pandemic-induced stoppage, will restart its campaign with a visit to Mallorca on June 13. Real Madrid, meanwhile, host Eibar the following day.

Spain's top flight has been on hiatus since March 12, but it was confirmed earlier this week that action will resume in June. The league officially restarts on June 11 with a derby match between Sevilla and Real Betis.

With La Liga president Javier Tebas remaining steadfast in his desire to stage matches every day, the games will come in bunches, and quickly. Barca are back in action three days after their restart when they host Leganes. Real Madrid follow that up by welcoming Valencia to the capital.

Amid ongoing construction at the Santiago Bernabeu, Los Blancos will play their home matches at the Alfredo Di Stefano Stadium located within their training complex, according to Sam Marsden of ESPN.

There are 11 matches to play for both Barcelona and Real Madrid to finish the season and crown a champion. La Liga hopes all the remaining fixtures will be completed by July 19.

When the campaign resumes - behind closed doors and following strict health and safety protocols - La Liga will become the second of Europe's top-five competitions to get back on the pitch, following in the footsteps of the Bundesliga, which is back in full swing after returning earlier in May.
