Serie A runner-up Napoli has completed a pair of transfer moves, with midfielder Fabian Ruiz arriving and Emanuele Giaccherini leaving.

The club announced the signing of Ruiz from Spanish side Real Betis on Thursday.

The Spain under-21 international had been with Betis since age 8, and gave his boyhood club what turned out to be a parting gift when he scored the goal that secured its place in next season's Europa League.

Instead, however, the 22-year-old will be playing in the Champions League for the Partenopei. Betis confirmed the Italian side paid Ruiz's buyout clause, reportedly set at €30 million, according to Sports Illustrated.

Ruiz's signing will likely increase speculation about Jorginho moving to Manchester City, with Napoli now seeming to have an able replacement in place.

The club also announced midfielder Giaccherini has joined fellow Serie A side Chievo permanently after a loan deal was struck in January.

Napoli amassed 90 points last term, but still finished second to Juventus.
