Bournemouth's Tomlin joins Bristol City on loan until end of season
Forward Lee Tomlin is back in the Championship, joining Bristol City on loan from Bournemouth until the end of the season.
He is available to play in Saturday's match against Birmingham. Tomlin scored his only goal of the season against the Blues at St. Andrew's in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Jan. 9.
"We've been monitoring his situation at Bournemouth and it's great that we've been able to bring him on board," said Bristol City's interim manager John Pemberton.
Tomlin, who has climbed the English football ladder over the past decade, played on the Middlesbrough side that narrowly missed out on Premier League promotion last season.
Not to be denied his first taste of top-flight football, Tomlin signed with Bournemouth in the summer. He made his Premier League debut in a 1-0 loss to Liverpool in August.
But the 27-year-old struggled to earn regular minutes, making just three league starts for the Cherries.
"Obviously I get frustrated when I don’t play games," Tomlin said, "but the lads have been flying at Bournemouth and I wish them all the best."
Bristol City is currently two places from the bottom of the Championship standings.
