For the first time in over five years and for the fifth time in his career, John Terry was forced to exit a Premier League fixture prematurely due to a red card on Sunday.
In the 54th minute of Chelsea's match at West Bromwich Albion, Terry was assigned a second yellow card after referee Mark Clattenburg deemed that he had brought down clear-on-goal Jose Salomon Rondon, West Brom's club-record signing.
So. Many. Stats...

Replays showed minimal contact, although Terry did appear to grab Rondon's right arm. The sending-off marks yet another setback in a season to forget for the veteran centre-back, who's now equal with Frank Leboeuf's club record of five Premier League red cards at Chelsea.
Sure enough, Twitter wasted no time in reacting to the incident:
Assume John Terry was sent off early so he could make his flight here for the Los Angeles-NYC match

John Terry has been shown a red card,
I'm understanding that he will now be unavailable for the rest of the game.

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; #JohnTerry
