Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal hints at mystery signing: 'You have to wait and see'
Louis van Gaal has his sights set on a striker, but no one's allowed to know who.
The Manchester United boss revealed Tuesday that he's close to bringing a forward to the club following Robin van Persie's transfer to Fenerbahce.
While several players have been linked to the Premier League outfit, Van Gaal explained that the player has yet to be connected with a transfer to United.
“He is in the process,” Van Gaal told reporters about the progress he's made with the mystery player. “It's not the striker the media has written about. You have to wait and see. The transfer period is open until the 1 September so we have to wait.”
Perhaps this means media outlets can rule out moves for Barcelona forward Pedro and Thomas Muller of Bayern Munich following weeks of speculation about their possible transfers to Old Trafford. Unless Van Gaal's having a laugh.
