Carl Jenkinson is set for another spell away from the Emirates Stadium after Arsenal agreed to loan him back to West Ham United.
West Ham announced that the young right-back will rejoin them on a season-long loan following a successful campaign last year at Upton Park, where he played an important role in the Hammers' impressive first half of the season.
The loan agreement will reportedly cost West Ham £2 million, according to John Cross of the Mirror.
Jenkinson's career at the Emirates, however, is far from over, as the club added that they signed him to a long-term contract. Arsenal didn't disclose details of the contract, but reports Monday suggested the 23-year-old's deal will keep him there for the next five years.
“He has moved because he had the confidence of West Ham,” manager Arsene Wenger told the team's website. “We have the emergence of Hector Bellerin, we have (Mathieu) Debuchy, we have Chambers.
“We are a bit congested in an area where you do not find many right backs all over the world.
“He will continue his development with West Ham. I found that all are winners there - (West Ham) and Arsenal and Jenkinson.”
Jenkinson made 32 league appearances for West Ham last season en route to helping them qualify for the Europa League.
