Report: Petr Cech agrees to personal terms with Arsenal as transfer grows closer
One of the more protracted transfer rumours of the summer seems to be approaching its conclusion.
Sky Sports reports that Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech, long expected to leave the Blues thanks to the emergence of the younger - and frankly, better - Thibaut Courtois, has agreed to personal terms with Arsenal.
An agreement over the transfer fee for the 33-year-old is still absent, however, and Sky Sports notes it could prove difficult to reach:
The transfer fee is unknown but it will be a cash only deal, with Chelsea's request to receive a home-grown player as part of the proposed transfer no longer being considered.
Cech made only seven Premier League appearances this past season. Arsenal certainly seem like a landing spot that would satisfy his desire for more time on the pitch, given the Gunners' unwillingness to fully commit to either David Ospina or Wojciech Szczesny.
