Wednesday's early Champions League games will be tough acts to follow.

Real Madrid once again showed why it's dangerous to write them off, coming from behind twice to beat AEK Athens 3-2 in Greece.

AEK Athens were minutes away from securing a draw against the 15-time European champions before Fede Valverde unleashed a powerful shot from outside the box to give Real Madrid the lead in the 92nd minute.

The victory maintained Real Madrid's perfect Champions League record after four games.

Meanwhile, Liverpool were on the losing end of an equally entertaining fixture. Fenerbahce rallied for a 3-2 victory in Turkey after trailing 2-1 in the 69th minute.

Alexander Isak's second-half strike was canceled out by Archie Brown's 73rd-minute equalizer, and substitute Vedat Muriqi scored the decisive goal six minutes later.

It was Liverpool's first defeat in the competition this season after wins over Atletico Madrid, Galatasaray, and Villarreal.

Liverpool now sit fifth in the Champions League table with nine points.
