Report: Chelsea contact Canada's David over potential transfer
Chelsea have their sights set on Lille and Canada forward Jonathan David.
The Premier League club held talks with David's representatives over a potential summer transfer for the 24-year-old, according to David Ornstein of The Athletic.
Chelsea have yet to make contact with Lille, but it's understood that the Blues have a good relationship with the Ligue 1 outfit.
A fee for David is expected to be reasonable given that he only has one year left on his contract, Ornstein adds.
David is among a number of forwards that Chelsea are expected to target this summer in a bid to strengthen their attack.
David joined Lille from Belgian club Gent in 2020 for a club-record €30 million.
He scored 19 goals in 34 league games last season.
Chelsea have completed one deal so far this season, signing defender Tosin Adarabioyo from Premier League rivals Fulham on a free transfer earlier in June.
