Manchester City are keeping a close eye on Ajax teenager Sontje Hansen.
The Premier League club has scouted the Dutch forward on several occasions, including last year when he won the Golden Boot at the Under-17 World Cup in Brazil, according to Jamie Jackson of the Guardian.
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is eager to add attacking reinforcements and plan for a future without club legend Sergio Aguero. The 31-year-old, who has called Manchester home since 2011, could be set to leave in 2021 when his contract expires.
While Gabriel Jesus has long been lined up to succeed Aguero, City could jump at the opportunity to sign Hansen for as little as £6 million, Jackson notes.
The club could, however, face plenty of competition to sign Hansen, who has made just two appearances for Ajax since his senior debut in December. Milan, Inter, and Juventus are also reportedly interested in Hansen, while German club RB Leipzig could, too, emerge as a possible contender.
Hansen was converted from a winger midway through the U-17 World Cup in 2019 and completed the tournament with six goals while helping the Netherlands finish fourth.
Later that year, City were in attendance when Hansen starred for the Dutch during the country's triumphant campaign at the Under-17 Euro Championship. Hansen scored the opener in Holland's 4-2 victory over Italy in the final in November.
